Precinct Captains are often neighborhood leaders that canvas each year throughout their precinct by going to door to door to update voter registration information. They introduce voters to candidates, as well as find volunteers for campaign projects.
Every two years the Precinct Captains come together to elect a new Chairperson or leader of our local Democratic Party along with the other officers and state committee members. A volunteer from their precinct can be made their Deputy Precinct Captain or assistant. The Deputy fills in when the Captain cannot attend the monthly Democratic Party meeting.
The Chair and Precinct Captains are the main voting members of the Central Committee and are able to vote on important matters throughout the year along with the Executive Committee which includes the Precinct Captains, the Officers and the State Committee men and women listed below.
